4/19/2024 0 Comments 2015 yamaha r1 ecu flash![]() I heard Bauce racing was also reflashing ECU's for the R1 and was getting very good results. I had to get another R1 and start over! Obviously a Reflashed ECU was first on my list of things to do to the new bike. ![]() The Power Modes where refined a bit, but Power modes 3 and especially 4 were pretty much a non factor to me. The Reflash still employed the "pretty much none at all" engine braking strategy, but hey! Overall it was pretty good. The fuel mapping really boosted the midrange power and torque and increased fuel mileage compared to FT ECU. It was similar to FT ECU's but with a few more must have features ( I would have gone with this one first but It wasn't avail until a month or so after I had the first reflash done). Needless to say I was left feeling less than satisfied. I like a fair amount of engine braking as a added way of slowing the bike when approaching streetlights. Coming from a big V Twin 1199 I was used to heavy engine braking and the new R1 in comparison had next to none to begin with. Their engine braking strategy seem to be just to eliminate all of it. The Reflash at that time included updates to quickshifter, as well as the basic feature package listed on the site, It lacked a few things as well like a refined fuel map that cured the "dead spot" around 5-6k and livened up the midrange power. On my first R1 I started with a Reflash directly in house at FT ECU in Orange, The bike had just come out and they were still learning from data from the race teams. ![]() ![]() After trying out 3 different ECU Reflash services across two 2015 yamaha R1's I've found what I believe to be the perfect match for myself and bike. ![]()
